I play taiko because it fills me with joy. I also love to see the
joy it brings to my taiko students, fellow taiko drummers, and audiences.
For me, playing taiko is magical. It is one of the ways I meditate
and infuse my body and mind with positive energy. It is an exquisite
artform. I thoroughly enjoy the creative energy that flows through
me when I play and teach taiko, paint pictures of taiko, write stories
and plays about taiko and compose taiko songs.
