The focus, concentration and strength used when playing the taiko drum creates a meditative state that clears the mind and releases stress. It is a wonderful mind-body experience!

On going five-week sessions offering basic taiko forms and rhythms

On going five-week sessions which layer on more complex forms and rhythms

"Introduction to Taiko" courses are offered throughout the year, according to demand. Maximum class size is 12 students, minimum is 6 students.

An "Introduction to Taiko" course, taught by Sara Dejoras is also offered quarterly through Southwest Community Education in Minneapolis. Call 612-668-3100 for information.

Sara Dejoras is available to teach workshops and school residencies.
